Over 250,000 Makatizens receive ‘ayuda’ via GCash

Over 250,000 Makatizens recently received their ‘relief ayuda’ electronically via the leading e-wallet platform GCash.

The contactless distribution, which made it possible for Makatizens to receive cash aid without having to go out and line up at the city hall, was made possible through the ongoing partnership between GCash and the City Government of Makati.

Aside from the distribution of the ‘ayuda, GCash also provided the platform for the disbursement of the first tranche of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) distribution last year (2020).

Makatizens were raving about the fast, safe and convenient distribution of the cash aid by the city government. Facebook user Judy Anne Germo posted: “Thank you Mayor Abby Binay for this shocking and explosive relief. I hope all will be able to enjoy! Thank you.” Another facebook user, VhanVhan Garcia posted her excitement about how effective their cash aid distribution is, “MAKATIZEN lang sakalam! Thank you, Mayora!”

Makatizens have the option to cash-in from their GCash account via a linked BPI or UnionBanks account or via the Instapay and PESONET fund transfer networks.  For unbanked users, GCash has tie-ups with various partners to expand its over-the-counter network, including Alfamart, Ministop, Puremart, Puregold, Robinsons Department Store, SM Store, Waltermart and Southstar Drug, among others.

Users may also use their GCash app to pay bills with over 400 billers, buy discounted load promos, or check out essentials on GLife which features over 35 brands.
